Who is Doc Bag?
Chris Baglivo a.k.a. “Doc Bag” is a Philadelphia native who’s played professionally as a musician since the age of 14. A graduate of Drexel University’s Music Industry Program in 2010 (now known as RAMP) he has gone on to record, mix, and produce some of the most beloved independent records to have come out of Philadelphia’s scene (including but not limited to Mannequinn Pussy, Spirit of the Beehive, Blue Smiley, and They Are Gutting A Body of Water). He and fellow Drexel Alum Evan Bernard are known for founding the now defunct Big Mama’s Recording, and together they now run the studio Jamtown near Temple University’s campus.
He has performed and toured in his band The Superweaks for over a decade, and he has also been a touring and/or recording member of bands such as Cold Fronts, Hurry, Harmony Woods, Z By Z, as well as many others.
